This morning started a little earlier (and a lot more exciting) than usual! I was on CTV Morning Live Calgary to chat all things Hockey Is My Favorite Season!
It was such a fun conversation. We talked about where the idea for the book came from, why representation in hockey matters so much to me, and how this whole thing started as a birthday gift that grew into something so much more.
I also got to brag about Austen, the amazingly talented illustrator and one of my close friends, who took a big leap with me on this project. Neither of us had done anything like this before, and seeing her bring these pages to life has been such a highlight for me.
We also chatted a bit about the Kickstarter, how it works, how people can pre-order the book, and how every single pledge helps bring this story to life. The campaign wraps up later this month, just in time for hockey season to kick off again.
Right now, I’m in the thick of finalizing files, ordering samples, and getting everything ready to go to print. It’s surreal and exciting and a little overwhelming in the best way.
